77th Anniversary of the Completion of the AT

Do you know where the last section of the fabled 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail was completed 77 years ago on August 18th? Right here in Maine between Spaulding and Sugarloaf Mountains. There is a plaque at the location documenting the spot. The original AT took more than 15 years to build and the last two-mile stretch was completed by a Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) crew 77 years ago this August. Have you been to this spot?
