New Maine Land Conservation Website

The Resources First Foundation (RFF) has recently launched a new website as a source of information on land conservation in Maine. StateConservation.org/Maine has been designed to be a comprehensive source of information on conservation of natural resources, including links to educational tools and solutions.
The RFF was founded in 2000 with the goal of promoting conservation and restoration of natural resource areas, specifically on privately-held lands. The spread of development represents a significant threat to maintaining the environment, ecology, and traditional land uses in rural areas such as Maine. This website is consistent with their efforts to provide unbiased facts on available resources for protecting special areas.
The website is organized by pages providing links to Programs, Farms, Wildlife, Planning, Associations, and Energy resources. There’s also a clever GIS datbase for the State of Maine showing an inventory of special nature resources. With lots of useful information like the location of Farmers Markets and list of Maine Land Trusts, this website is a great comprehensive source for information on conservation.
