Zealand Hut Trip 1999

Again this year we were fortunate to experience sunny, mild weather. The group totaled fifteen eager hikers. After arriving at Zealand Hut and unpacking, some of the die-hard women explored the trail up to Zee Cliff. On Sunday the group broke trail up Mt. Tom on the A-Z Trail, while others hiked to the summit of Mt. Hale. There was even a few minutes to bask in the sun at lunch time. The Sunday evening dinner party was very well attended. Even the Hut Crew and misc. hut guests "dressed" for the dinner party. As the photos show - we had a lot of fun! Monday's hike out Zealand Trail to Rt 302 started with snow, then sleet and finally rain. The rain let up long enough to unload the sleds, then it poured all the way home. A special thank you to Ginney Smith and Mike D'Orieo for the shopping, prepping and cooking of the wonderful meals. Great job!
