We went in via Ethan Pond Trail, up over Willey and Field via the Willey Range Trail, over to Mt. Tom and out by the A-Z and Avalon Trials (we had spotted cars at the notch). Weather treated us very well, the route up Willey was relatively dry--the sun having melted the snow. We hit snow just before the top of Willey and stayed in it until we got back down to about 2,500 feet. Across the ridge, there was 3-4 inches but it was wet and no problem. Although we carried crampons (having heard about snow), they were not needed. There were some wet/muddy areas. Gray Jays shared our lunch on top of Field. It was a great group and a great day for a hike. Thanks to those who joined us and contributed to the experience! Leader - Joleen Rice, Co-leader Mike D'Orio
