Countries are looking forward to Arctic shipping lanes being ice-free year round. But what are climate changes likely to bring to our own area of Maine? To find out, join us at the Fields Pond Audubon Center in Holden (outside of Bangor) on Wednesday November 12th for an Evening with Dr. George Jacobson of the University of Maine Climate Change Institute. Maine State Climatologist Dr. Jacobson will share his knowledge of climate change and its effects on our lives. “The big question we’re trying to answer in our work is how have forests and forest education patterns responded to climate change in the recent past and in the distant past under different climate regimes. Understanding the long term variability of the climate gives us the ability to understand the modern world.” Join AMC and Maine Audubon on Wednesday, November 12 at Fields Pond Audubon Center, 216 Fields Pond Road, Holden, Maine. Optional potluck at 6:00 PM, (please bring a food item to share and a plate and utensils) followed by the presentation at 7:00 PM. Free and open to the public. FMI contact: Gerry Sawyer
