Not long before Jonathan Rundell and three friends arrived in Montana to backpack in Glacier National Park, the high passes were still snowed in. Not long after they returned home, wildfires swept through the eastern side of the park, and the youngest member of the group, who had just graduated from high school, left his home in New Hampshire to start a career in the military. Time is precious and fleeting, and sometimes you don’t know until later how fortunate you have been. Join us on Thursday February 25th for a scenic journey to this magnificent Montana wilderness. We will encounter bears and other wildlife, pull trout out of pristine backcountry lakes, and ascend high mountain passes. We will learn about ourselves and one another, and strengthen the bonds of friendship. Optional Potluck starts at 6pm – please bring a dish to share and help us be green by bringing your own silverware, plate and cup. Presentation starts at 7pm. Curtis Memorial Library, Morrell Meeting Room, 23 Pleasant Street, Brunswick, ME. For more information, contact Michelle Moody 207-406-5221 or Meetings and Education Chair, Lisa Pengel.
