Dr. Brian Roth is an acclaimed expert in forestry regeneration and management, and has been conducting research in the field for 25 years. Roth and team recently discovered the tallest chestnut tree in North America growing here in Maine. In 1900, the species accounted for 25% of all trees in the Eastern US and had great value. A fungal blight crippled the population and by 1950, less than 0.1% of the chestnut trees had survived. Come learn more about his discovery and efforts to restore chestnut populations in Maine.
