State Museum in Augusta has new Don Fendler Exhibit

Remember the true tale and subsequent book of the young boy “Lost on a Mountain in Maine”? This year marks the 75th anniversary of Don Fendler’s 9-day, 48-mile ordeal that earned the boy a Medal of Valor from President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Although it happened way back in 1939, the lessons learned still apply today for the outdoor enthusiast. The Maine State Museum in Augusta has a new exhibit opening on July 12th, and Don himself will be there starting at 10:30 AM to talk about his experience and sign books.
