Registration is Open for the 2011 Maine Chapter Annual Meeting

Calling all AMC members! You are invited to the Maine Chapter’s Annual Meeting- a weekend of fun, food, and activities. The 2011 meeting will be held Friday, October 21st to Sunday, October 23rd at Camp Kieve in Nobleboro, Maine. Camp Kieve is on Damariscotta Lake and is close to the Camden Hills, where many of the weekend’s hikes will take place.

Please download, complete and return the Registration Form (PDF) to sign up for accommodations and meals (also available in the Chapter newsletter Wilderness Matters). Please also download an an agenda for Saturday evening’s business meeting, including the proposed slate of officers for the Executive Committee that will be voted on by the general membership present at the meeting.

Camp Kieve accommodations include bunks in newly renovated and heated cabins with full bathroom facilities or a spot for pitching a tent. Meals include hot and cold breakfasts, trail lunch buffet options, and a delectable chicken or vegetarian dinner on Saturday. The full weekend (two nights in a cabin and all meals) is $99 per person. Al a cart options are available, so members can pick and choose from meals and nightly accommodation options. The spacious cafeteria is also newly renovated and heated.

The majority of the weekend’s activities will take place on Saturday, October 21st. Many of the activities are currently being planned so please check back. This year will feature half-day indoor workshops on topics such as map and compass reading; use of GPS; digital photography; and a “tour” of the Maine Chapter website. Please sign up for activities with the leaders as listed.

Friday

  • Chili cook-off supplied by the Maine Chapter Executive Committee from 5-9PM

Saturday

  • Choose an activity from our calendar page. Both indoor workshops and outdoor trips are available. Please contact the leader listed to sign up
  • 5PM social hour
  • 6PM chicken or vegetarian dinner
  • 7PM Annual business meeting and committee reports
  • 8PM Guest presenter

Sunday

  • Choose an activity from our calendar page. Both indoor workshops and outdoor trips are available. Please contact the leader listed to sign up

    • Please note:

    • By sending in the Registration Form (PDF), you will be registered for meals and accommodations, but not the daytime trips/outings. Please submit one form per person. Registration deadline is Sunday October 16.
    • The scheduled trips/outings require advanced registration with the trip leader. Visit the calendar of events and sign up with the trip leader directly.
    • For overnight guests, please bring linens or a sleeping bag, a headlamp, towel, and any other personal items.
    • Please do not bring pets or smoke at Camp Kieve.
