Trip Expense Reimbursement
Draft of AMC policy
Purpose:
In an effort to help leaders comply with the guidelines set forth by the Outings Committee. We are initiating a trial run program where Trip Leaders would be reimbursed for out of pocket expenses related to leading trips. Examples of out of pocket expenses include but are not limited to the following: WFA, WFR, WEMT or similar related first aid courses, MLS, NOLS or other similar leadership training, WMNF parking permits, camp site fees, courses relating to navigation, low impact camping, out door cooking, or other related topics.
All requests must be made to the Outings Committee in writing with proof of payment and successful completion of course. All requests will be reviewed by the Outings Committee at a regular Outings Committee meeting. All, or a percentage of the fees would be reimbursed to the Trip Leader, with a yearly maximum payment per leader of $50.00 up to the yearly budgeted amount established by the Outings Committee Chairs. Only requests made by Maine Chapter Trip Leaders, in good standing, with current AMC membership and Maine Chapter affiliation will be considered. Those with Co-Leader status only are NOT eligible.
It is possible to request funds or scholarship money in advance.
Policies for each specific category will be developed as needed to insure consistency
