Don’t let worries about ticks keep you and your family inside! On Thursday August 10, Maine Audubon is sponsoring an educational evening program focused on understanding and preventing tickborne diseases. We will begin with a panel discussion and question and answer session featuring Ben Stone from the Vector-borne Disease Lab at Maine Medical Research Center Institute and Emer Smith of the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention. In addition to the panel discussion we will have some hands on activities to further tick education and prevention.

Presented by Maine Audubon and the Forest Playgroup, “Adventure Parenting” workshops provide parents and caregivers with practical knowledge, effective tools, and simple strategies they can use to confidently and regularly explore the natural world with their kids. Your participation in these workshops supports the fundraising efforts of Forest Playgroup as they become a 501c3 organization in the state of Maine and continue to host weekly free adventures around the state.
